In a joint statement released today, Minister for Energy and Clean Economy Jobs, The Honourable Mick de Brenni, and Minister for Employment and Small Business and Minister for Training and Skills Development, The Honourable Lance McCallum, announced that Central Queensland will be the new home of a $15 million Renewable Energy Training Facility in Rockhampton.
This state-of-the-art facility, owned and operated by Electro Group Training, will provide local workers with the essential skills needed for the thousands of jobs being created under Labor’s Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan and the Queensland Clean Energy Workforce Roadmap.
The training facility will offer qualifications in renewable energy, train apprentices, and help licensed electricians upgrade their skills to safely install, operate, and manage solar and other renewable energy equipment.
