| As of July 1, 2024, several significant changes have been implemented for Australian Apprenticeships, aimed at enhancing support and incentives for apprentices and employers.
Australian Apprenticeship Support Services Commencement The new Australian Apprenticeship Support Services program has officially commenced, delivered by Apprentice Connect Australia Providers (ACAP). These providers will assist apprentices in accessing available financial incentives and offer personalised information and advice on apprenticeship pathways. They will also address barriers to retention and completion by delivering enhanced support, including pastoral care, career and industry mentoring, and counselling. Australian Apprenticeship Incentive System Changes The Australian Apprenticeship Incentive System has moved into Phase 2, focusing financial support on Australian Apprenticeships in priority occupations listed on the Australian Apprenticeships Priority List. Priority Hiring Incentive Eligible employers of Australian Apprentices in priority occupations can now receive up to $5,000 in the first year of an apprenticeship under the Priority Hiring Incentive. Australian Apprentice Training Support Payment This payment offers up to $5,000 for eligible Australian Apprentices in occupations listed on the Australian Apprenticeship Priority List, distributed over four instalments, with front-loaded payments to provide increased support during the first year. |
